International Arbitration:
This is a key area of investment for the firm and cross-border work in both Africa and Globally is a large area of growth for the South African offices of my client. The disputes practice enjoys a close working relationship with their considerable international network with a particular partnership with the UK, Middle East and Australia. The London office has passively benefitted from the network and there is a clear gap for an international arbitration specialist to lead and grow the practice in Africa.The firm's international arbitration practice is a GAR 100 listed practice and well known for international arbitration, through its deep roots in shipping, energy and construction.
Background:
The firm would ideally like to recruit a dedicated international arbitration specialist although they are open to commercial litigator with International Arbitration experience who is looking to further focus in this area. The South African network of offices has recognised that there is real opportunity for a partner/head of department and will support not only the growth of a strong practice off the back of their very established commercial litigation/disputes team but is also committed to investing in the growth of this team. Reputation is important as is following, but a track record of business generation and winning mandates will be required
