GILLESPIE MACANDREW LLP - Non-Executive Chair

Gillespie Macandrew is a successful independent Scottish legal firm which is seeking to appoint a non-executive chair to help the firm realise its ambitious plans to develop the business significantly over the next 3-5 years.

The Firm has what it considers a unique focus on key areas of business in Land and Rural Business, Private Client and Energy and Strategic Land while providing services in other areas.

Following strong growth in 2015/16 and being on course to meet 2016/17 targets, the partners consider the next stage of their ambition can best be realised under the guidance of an experienced, external, non-executive chair. This approach will leave the partners to focus on what they do best - servicing the needs of and growing their already significant client base.

Applications are therefore now sought from interested candidates from relevant backgrounds.

The successful candidate while having their own strong commercial contacts within Scotland is likely to have had at least 5 years experience in a senior management role in an SME or larger business/organisation. In addition good knowledge, understanding and experience in 1) the management and operation of a professional partnership, 2) the wider Scottish business and legal market and 3) the changes likely to impact upon businesses over the next 4/5 years will be significant attributes.

It is anticipated the successful candidate will be appointed in the spring of 2017 for an initial 3-year term from July 2017 when the current Chair retires. The time commitment is expected to be the equivalent of an average of 1 to 1.5 days a week. A competitive salary will be paid.
