Ambition is the leading national youth charity, reaching over half a million young people every year across the UK.  We have been giving young people in local communities the chance of a better future for over 90 years.  We enable organisations that work with young people to thrive through Ambition Quality, strategic support, funding opportunities and accredited training.  Our national network of members includes youth clubs, community projects, local authorities and housing associations.

We have worked hard to forge partnerships across the statutory, voluntary and private sectors, developing high-profile programmes and services, and establishing Ambition as a leading voice within the youth sector.  However, a changing political environment for youth services means that there is still so much more to do to ensure that our work continues to improve young people’s educational attainment, employability and health & wellbeing. 

We are seeking an exceptional Chair to lead our Board to replace our current Chair on his retirement.  We are looking for someone in tune with our ambitions and visions who can provide the strategic leadership and direction to help build on our achievements.  Your enthusiasm for our work will complement your innovative thinking and ability to challenge.  You will have strong business skills and be a strategic thinker with the ability to communicate with our partners.

The total time commitment is c.10 days per year in London.
