The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest general hospital foundation trusts in the country. With a turnover of over £330m, employing over 4,500 staff and delivering care from 10 locations, we provide acute medical and surgical services to a population of 500,000 patients in Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire and specialist services to a wider population of 1 million across Berkshire and its borders.
We are a designated specialist centre in cancer, bariatric care, heart attack and stroke. The trust is ambitious for its future and is now seeking to recruit two talented and motivated individuals to join its board of directors who will share the organisation’s passion for excellence in patient care and outcomes.
The Role
• Provide oversight, governance and leadership to the Trust in the pursuit and delivery of high quality healthcare services.
• Scrutinise the performance of the organisation in meeting agreed goals and objectives for quality, safety and financial performance to ensure that the Trust meets and exceeds patient expectations.
• Act as an ambassador for the Trust working in partnership with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the health economy including the Council of Governors and our strategic partners.
The Candidate
• Bring expertise in the areas of customer services, marketing or have general commercial experience that will benefit the work of the organization.
• A commitment to the NHS and its values, with insight into the current challenges it faces.
• Passion for improving the customer experience and a commitment to the ethos of public service, with a strong understanding of commercial issues.
